Dear Blog- I've missed you

Dear Blog,
What happened, we used to be such good friends.
Yeah, so I got bored of writing that thing for awhile but as they say, boring is as boring does so here I am again you cheeky little monkeys. I'm writing in here because i said I would do so after this weekend's Ironman in Coeur D'Alene. Yes folks this is where you get the inside scoop, the real deal, the big salami, not the sugar coated version printed in US magazine or featured on E-TV, this is the real deal man....so sit back and chillax dude, this is going to be an awesome blog for all to read.

This weekend I got bent over Tom and Victors lap and spanked. I won't say it was awesome but hats off to them. Hats off to Mike Lovato as well for a strong race despite nearly drowing in the water. I finished 4th and it was a tough day. I was up and down on it really, some great sections, some pretty horrible ones but that is Ironman. The wind was fierce and the waves were awesome and we all should have been windsurfing and kite boarding if the truth be told.

Tom rode brilliantly, put 7-9 minutes on us in the second half of the bike....who does that man?.....oh yeah, Tom does that's who. Point is, he gave himself a chance to win and darn near did but Viktor, the evil, stalking European dynamo stormed back with a 2:47 run and won the thing, it was a good battle. I had my own battle going....down 4 minutes to Brian Rhodes with 5 miles to go and completely smashed myself to catch him. I managed 4 6:13 miles at the end and caught him with 600m to go. He cursed and swore and chucked a gel flask at me which is just the funniest thing ever and we should televise stuff like that it makes our sport more interesting. It was all in good sport and we had a good laugh after but I think he secretly wanted to punch me out which I would have accepted happily. If it's any consolation, my legs are completely smashed after that nonesense.

And so that is done, Hawaii spot attained and not a win but you can't win them all as they say, but yes i can be strikingly good looking all the time and so i did that all weekend.

And now who cares about the race on account of the best news being the birth of the wee one to Jennie and Simon on Friday which is just plain fantastic and there is cheer all around....wooohoooo, i'm going to party like it's nine.

Be well fellow humans, be well.
Until next time which shall be more regular again on account of nothing in particular.
