My sincere apologies for desecrating this blog with that last lame post. It is my intention to rectify that immediately and tell you how it really has been this past 10 days in Penticton.
Well, Penticton really is fantastic, love it here a ton. I made some new friends in Alex and Olly from New Zealand and that has definitely been the highlight. We had Alex's homemade pizza last night on the beach in Koledan as the sun set and the children played, it was truly romantic and I am sure Alex and Olly were happy to have me along to be part of their romantic evening!!..ha We capped the night off with a stroll on OK lake walkway with some sweet ice cream cones and a look at all the crazy's and their sweet cars cruising the strip...it made me want to drive down on my scooter and show them all up!.....ps. Alex and Olly got me a wicked cool Key chain that was Olly's idea, it's a great token of New Zealand.....just ask me nicely and i will show it to you but you can't have it....it's mine!
The training camp has gone really well. Ten days has seen 4 complete rides of the course and close to 30 hours of riding including one TT of the course last wednesday that went well. My body is right on the verge i think of being a bit overdone but with a couple rest days and some sharpening up I should be good to go in a couple of weeks.
I have had the best homestay in the Younnie's who own the Dairy Queen in town. They have the most wicked pad up on the hill with killer views and there is great energy here. They had a great party the other night and it was then i realized i had crossed over. Their daughters and their daughters friends were there until about 11 and left for the bar and I found myself having rather adult conversation with the adults and I realized that I have crossed over into grown-up-ness and to be honest i really enjoyed the conversation.......my Dad always told me one day I would become a man and I guess at 32 I finally might be, how exciting!
Onward now and off to Vic tommorow to rest, chill, sharpen and see my bro who i haven't seen in ages so i am totally stoked!! yeehaw!
Until next time, keep fit and have fun

The Vineyards
Penticton is incredible. I am here on a two week training block to get some time in on the IM course and hang out in one of Canada's sweetest places. The training block has so far been quite large with a 28 hour week on the bike over the past 7 days. I TT'd the bike course yesterday and it went quite well so I was pleased with that. I am smashed today for sure. I've hooked up with Olly the New Zealander who has been living and training in Penticton for the past year so that has been great.
I rode out to Naramata the other day...winding road that takes you through some of Canada's great wineries. The road makes it's way along the East side of Okanagan lake so the views are spectacular and the wine is plenty.
This is rather a boring entry but i am tired so eat a peach! (Peaches are also available-a-plenty here in Penticton) (Cherries too)
Until next time, keep fit and eat peaches
