A perfect morning

I feel compelled to document what I would consider one of my most perfect mornings in my small personal history. Yes, this morning for some reason stood out above many others....perhaps it was the series of events, perhaps it was the company I held, perhaps it was the biorythmic hummmm of life at that moment....whatever it was, i felt a peace I have not had in ages.

To start I will say that I absolutely hate getting up in the morning sometimes....I will follow that by saying there is nothing I like better than actually being up early....the crack of dawn, before the rest of the world......I hate the alarm going off, I love the result......i'm not sure if that says anything profound about my character or not but make of it what you will.

This sunday started with an awful alarm at 5:40....why so early, well, in order to run with the legend Southie, this is the sacrifice you have to make...the man is a butcher and work starts early on Sunday so running has to start earlier. The workout, 2 hours with 90mins at Ironman pace starting just after 6am!!.....ughh....but sometimes there is something incredibly energizing about being up at this time on a sunday......very few people are up and the world is mostly quiet, a peaceful state to say the least. Southie and I had a great run...around the lakes, out lochside, just clipping along with the occasional spectacular view of the ocean and mount baker....nature just oozing with energy and southie and i running it all down and soaking it all up!

Post run, a light stretch and some hanging with southie and collette before heading to the ocean to ice my legs.....wow, what a morning, the ocean is rarely as glassy as it was on sunday...incredible! The beach was almost deserted with the exception of the odd dedicated couple going for their daily walk.

Icing done I rushed home to get ready for World Cup Soccer sunday.....Simon and Jordan came round and we had some kick butt pancakes with strawberries and whip cream and watched one of the best games of soccer I've ever seen. I will admitt, if I could pick anything else to be great at it would be soccer....the flow, the passion, the rythm of the game and the simple fact that the world seems to care so much about it would be incredible to be part of.

And so by noon i had the most overwhelming feeling of calm and relaxation.....I would imagine the opposite of how Zidane felt.....i wanted France to win and still give Zidane all my props....despite the head-butt the guy is still bloody cool.....love'em!

A great session, a jolt of natures energy, ocean legs, soccer and good laughs with mates.....awsome!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
